Black Cohosh OG - live plant
These field dug Black Cohosh plants are available in 4 inch pots.
In the Garden
Grows best in zones 4 through 8. Dappled Sun. Moist and well-drained soil. Black Cohosh self-seeds when its happy; it may also be propagated by root division. It can grow 4-5 feet tall.
Harvest in the fall after the plant goes dormant. Dig roots once plants are three years or older. Cut only part of the root so the crown can be replanted or divided for future harvests.
In the Apothecary
Use an extract of fresh or dried root in alcohol for hormonal support (especially in menopause). Do NOT use if pregnant, unless under the supervision of a health practitioner, since black cohosh can also be used to induce labor.

A Note about Plant Sizes
This picture shows the plant full grown- your baby seedlings will be much smaller and not yet flowering!
We've raised them from seed, and made sure they are adjusted to 24/7 outdoor weather, so it will be the perfect time and size to take home and plant in your own garden to arrange in harmony with your other plants.
