In the Apothecary:
Preparations: extract of leaves and flowers; dried for infusion or infused in oil.
Uses: Digestive & nervous system support.
Energetics: Cooling
Tastes: Bitter, nutty
Herbal Action: bitter digestive, nervine - internal and external
From our Experience:
Blue Vervain makes a bitter herbal infusion; it is best in small quantities blended with other herbs.
Blue Vervain infused in oil makes a lovely massage oil for the neck and shoulders - offering its nervine qualities to these stress prone areas. When blending herbal tisanes, blue vervain typically acts as the accent herb and combines well with lemon balm, lavender, holy basil (tulsi), and milky oats.
