Echinacea purpurea OG - 3 live roots for planting stock.  Best planted in early October. Medicinal grade root stock.

LIVE Root Stock shipped early October.  Each order contains 3 live roots shipped in a small amount of soil and a compostable bag.  Please plant immediately upon delivery.

In the Garden

Zones 4-9.  Thrives in full sun and moist mulched soil.   Spreads slowly.  Harvest the leaf and flower in the first year and the roots in year three.

Plant roots in 6 inches of soil with the roots spread out.  Mulch and water well.    

Harvest the leaves and flowers from 1st year on during peak bloom in July/August; usually August in Maine. After the plants establish (about 3 years) harvest the root in the fall after the plant dies back. Dig gently into the earth using a spade.  Pull out the entire plant and divide.  Put about 1/3 back in the ground for next season and harvest the remainder.
