Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus)
Certified Organic | Grown & Processed at Meeting House Farm, Scarborough, Maine
Long revered in traditional herbal traditions, Astragalus is known for its deep, earthy sweetness and its role as a foundational root in apothecary practice. Our roots are harvested in their third year, when the plant’s energy is fully concentrated underground, and immediately prepared for processing on the farm.
Astragalus is grown using regenerative and organic practices, nurtured through Maine’s coastal seasons, and processed into extract in our on-farm certified facility to preserve potency, purity, and full seed-to-bottle traceability.

From Our Experience
Here in Maine, we work with Astragalus as a daily immune tonic during tick season. I've also been known to slip it into into our immune broth. It is quite fibrous so needs to be removed from the broth before consumption.
