Unofficially thyme is the herb most used in jokes and puns. Officially, studies show thyme has some fantastic health properties, including lowering the number of viable cancer cells for certain kinds of cancer, protecting against several kinds of bacteria, including salmonella and ecoli, is known to reduce the amount of certain yeast infections, and even help acne. Is this a miracle herb? Probably not, because you would need a lot of thyme to get these effects. But, it is a fantastic addition to so many different dishes.
