Dried Hyssop aerial parts
Certified Organic by MOFGA and grown regeneratively by one of the Meeting House Farm Collaborative Farms. Plants are dried immediately after harvest in an on-farm organic certified drying facility to maximize potency and preserve quality.
We typically harvest Hyssop starting in June.
In the Apothecary:
Preparations: Fresh infusion or flowers and leaves; dried infusion; or extract.
Uses: Respiratory system support. Expectorant.
Tastes: bitter, pungent
Herbal Action: expectorant, stimulant, carminative.
From our Experience:
When blending herbal tisanes, hyssop typically acts as the accent herb and the blue flowers add a lovely pop of color to your blend. Combines well with horehound, holy basil (tulsi), and marshmallow.
