Calendula
Calendula (Calendula officinalis)
Calendula is a luminous garden ally, known for its bright orange petals and long history in apothecary practice. Our Calendula is grown regeneratively, following organic standards, by Power Farm Herbals in Falmouth, Maine. Plants are dried immediately after harvest in an on farm drying facility to preserve aroma, potency, and overall plant integrity.
Available Forms
-
Dried Herb: Certified organic whole Calendula flowers, gently dried and ready for infusion, blending, or apothecary use.
-
Extract: Fresh flowers prepared as an alcohol extract in small batches using organic grain alcohol made in Maine and pure Maine spring water (1:2 ratio).
-
Infused Oil: Our Calendula infused oil is double extracted using two methods: an alcohol-based extract of the dried flowers and a slow infusion of dried flowers in organic jojoba oil. The infusion is held at 80 °F for eight days to gently preserve the plant’s delicate constituents. The resulting oil is double filtered after infusion but never pressed, maintaining clarity and integrity without compromising quality.
Our oils may naturally solidify at temperatures around 40 °F. Bring to room temperature before use. Infused oils are typically ready to ship 2 to 3 weeks after your order is placed.
Calendula is harvested continuously throughout the growing season, with flowers picked by hand every few days to ensure peak freshness and quality.
