Sambucus nigra
These Elderberry plants are available in 1 gallon size pots. Available for local pick up at our May Plant Sale only. Grown from cuttings of the bushes at Meeting House Farm.
In the Garden: Elder offers two separate harvests - Flowers in June and Berries in late August. Harvest flower umbels - being sure to leave enough to produce berries in the fall
Zones 3-7. Maine Native. This is a perennial shrub with runners and will spread when established. Prefers damp soil near a water soil. Reaches 10-15 ft.
Each year we harvest enough berries to make a fantastic tart with health benefits!

All live seedlings are certified organic by MOFGA and grown biodynamically from seed at Meeting House Herb Farm in Scarborough, Maine.
A Note about Plant Sizes
This picture shows the plant full grown- your baby seedlings will be much smaller and not yet flowering!
We've raised them from seed, and made sure they are adjusted to 24/7 outdoor weather, so it will be the perfect time and size to take home and plant in your own garden to arrange in harmony with your other plants.
