Comfrey OG - live plant
Symphytum officinalis
These field dug Comfrey plants are available in 1 gallon pots. Available for pick up only.
In the Garden
Grows best in zones 4 through 9. Full Sun to Part Shade. Thrives in almost any soil. This perennial can grow 2 feet tall.
Harvest the roots in the Fall or Spring while the plant is dormant. Harvest leaves in early spring (in May or June) just before peak flower
In the Apothecary
Use an oil infusion of dried leaf or root to support the musculoskeletal system.
This plant is full of iron and minerals and is medicine for your orchard trees and garden plants. Ferment cut leaves for two weeks in rainwater to make a "ferment tea" to feed your plants at the root. Comfrey’s long taproot brings deep minerals into the reach of orchard tree roots. Every orchard tree at Meeting House Farm is planted with one or more comfrey plants.

A Note about Plant Sizes
This picture shows the plant full grown- your baby seedlings will be much smaller and not yet flowering!
We've raised them from seed, and made sure they are adjusted to 24/7 outdoor weather, so it will be the perfect time and size to take home and plant in your own garden to arrange in harmony with your other plants.
