In the Garden

Zones 4-8.  Thrives in full sun and will grow in part shade.   Plant carefully as you will likely always have comfrey once planted.  Plant root vertically in 6 inches of moist soil.   Cover with mulch.

Harvest leaf the first year and root after three years.  Plant will spread - cut back prior to seed to manage spread.  

Comfrey leaf is a welcome mineral rich addition to your compost pile and as a fermented "tea" sprayed on other plants at the root during growing season.
