Job Description – Herb Processor
We are offering an hourly opportunity at Meeting House Farm in Scarborough, Maine.
Join our amazing team of herbalists and farm workers for the Fall season!
Daily duties include but are not limited to:
- Herb milling or garbling - the processing of dried plants through screens to reach appropriate size and maintain high quality.
- Sanitizing and washing dishes.
- Keeping processing spaces clean and sanitary.
- Occasionally assisting with the harvest of flowers, leaves, and roots
The processor will be expected to hand-process herbs at a rate of at least 1lb. an hour for 2+ hours each day.
The ideal candidate will be able to provide their own transportation to and from the farm, stand for 3 hours at a time, not be allergic to dried plant material, and be able to work independently.
This job is primarily indoors and primarily standing.
Herb milling or garbling is a meditative task that can be done while listing to a podcast, audio book or music.
This position is seasonal and begins immediately through late October. Work days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 9 am - 12 pm or from 3 pm - 6 pm in Scarborough, Maine.
Hourly rate is $15 - $19 depending on experience.
