LIVE Root Stock shipped early October.  Each order contains 3 live roots shipped in a small amount of soil and a compostable bag.  Please plant immediately upon delivery.

In the Garden

Zones 4-8.  Thrives in 6 hours sun and moist mulched soil (contrary to common opinion that this is ONLY a shade plant) but will also grow in the shade.  Spreads slowly.  Newly planted roots can take a year or more to produce arial parts.

Plant rhizome horizontally in 1-2 inches of moist soil.  Cover with mulch.

After the plants establish (about 3 years) We harvest in the fall after the plant dies back. Dig gently into the earth using your hands pull the roots and cut the "seal" out of the root. Plant the tips back into the soil for more solomon's seal next season.
